But the multiplication of legal forms of corporations with social-environmental objectives ("profit-with-purpose corporations") is likely to introduce confusion, especially as these forms of corporations remain under-conceptualized. The article provides a conceptual framework to distinguish different types of profit-with-purpose corporations, according to their purpose. This conceptual framework makes it possible to formulate several proposals for public authorities as well as for companies by highlighting, on the one hand, the contingency criteria of the different purposes, but above all the governance appropriate to the nature of the purposes and the conditions of integrity of these forms.
