AB  - To create his series The Passions, Bill Viola draws on the resources of art history: he animates paintings that touch him without creating a mimetic relationship with them. Rather, he seeks to liberate expressive forces in them, whose metamorphoses he details through the work of slow motion. So he manages to probe and vary the figurability of passions. With the help of emotion, object and vector of the gaze, his art is a sign of the thickness of the feeling and of life itself.
