AB  - Louis-Antoine Caraccioli (1719-1803) is one of the less known authors of the Enlightenment. However, his educational works deserve to be revalued. In Le Véritable mentor (1759) and La Vraie Manière d’élever les princes (1788), Caraccioli tents to harmonize the catholic religion and the demands of a reformed education. In the center of this project we find the person of the educator who combines in his personality the guardian angel, the good citizen and the philosopher.
