AB  - Analyzing five films, this study intends to demonstrate that, in Italian cinema, the elected official always embodies an antihero. In this sense, cinema plays a twofold role. On the one hand, it describes and anticipates fundamental institutional changes, illustrating in particular the transition from the First to the Second Republic. On the other hand, it helps build a collective discourse on elected officials by influencing the relationships between citizens, politicians, and institutions.
