Exchanges between Chinese and French literatures, via translations, took place throughout the 19th century and intensified in the 20th. In this context, Chinese “francophonie”, present due to evangelization since the 17th century, developed: authors had set themselves the task of making people discover China. Today, globalization is leading to the proliferation of literatures of Chinese origin.
