AB  - This article takes stock of the development of Tristan studies in the United States since 1985, in the vein opened by the work of Claude Abraham, a friend of Amédée Carriat and instigator of research on Tristan L’Hermite. Tristan plays a discreet though steady role in these works, especially as a playwright and prose writer, despite changes in the teaching of French works. Initiatives are proposed that may expand the circle of Tristan readers in North America.
