AB  - The stanzas in Tristan L'Hermite’s tragedies are an embedded poetic work, bringing into play formal constraints, ingenious writing, as well as themes and linguistic operations comparable to those of his lyric collections. Moreover, the evolution of their integration and their dramaturgical function can be detected over the course of time; the stanzas are not only ornamental, but are the site of an aesthetic shaping of the characters and the plots.
