AB  - Les dernières productions de Tristan se partagent en deux grands ensembles : d’une part des vers épars, d’autre part la pastorale dramatique Amarillis et la comédie du Parasite. La poésie d’éloge situe Tristan au plus près du cercle académique. Le rapport des deux pièces de théâtre à l’institution est plus indirect : elles permettent d’écarter tout sujet polémique, politique ou religieux. On peut aussi penser qu’au faîte de la reconnaissance, Tristan se soit plu à des exercices divertissants.

KW  - Tristan’s late works can be divided into two groups: on the one hand, some assorted poems, and on the other hand, the pastoral play Amarillis and the comedy Le Parasite. The poetry of praise situates Tristan close to the circle of the Académie française. The relation between the two plays and the Académie is less direct: they make it possible to avoid any controversial subject, whether political or religious. We might also imagine that, at the height of his fame, Tristan enjoyed applying himself to entertaining projects.
