AB  - Most of Malherbe’s sonnets celebrate the beauty of an object of the gaze thanks to a device of double vision which relies on systems of comparison. As a problematizing and problematic expression of this process, the concetto transforms this beauty into an object of thought, but declares this by playing with pretenses that gleam with a hidden truth at the heart of appearances. Like the words of a prophet, it says something which is not seen insofar as it was not said, and introduces the object into the space of the poem.
