AB  - What would have happened if Carmen had avoided death and stayed married to Don José? It’s this possibility that appears on the Netflix show Gypsy. The main characters, Jean and Sidney, are two representations of Carmen. Jean, an older Carmen who stayed with her husband, loses her carmenesque identity and becomes “a lost Carmen”. Meeting the young Sidney, a “Carmen for a new generation”, she undertakes a quest to find herself.
