AB  - For Louis Dumur, the “conquest of Paris” took place in two stages. He spent the years leading up to 1889 assimilating and gaining an awareness of his vocation as a writer. From 1889 to the first years of the twentieth century, the theatrical essays were the dominant force in the life of a writer who, after the sudden death of his partner Virgil Josz, returned to his first love: the novel.
