AB  - Born at the turn of the century near Bellac, Vialatte discovered Giraudoux at the end of the Great War. Still a student, he passionately defended him in his correspondence, declaring his admiration for his war stories; editor of the Revue rhénane, he wrote a brilliant review of Siegfried et le Limousin. He viewed him as a poet who had “changed the coordinates of the world,” and his influence was decisive in the formation of his aesthetic; he also often pastiched him.
