AB  - A reading of the Pantagruelion chapters of François Rabelais’s Tiers livre, this article unveils the tension between the praise of humanity’s mastery of nature and the critique of human pride and negligence as potentially destructive forces that threaten the world. In conversation with works of M. Serres and B. Latour, this article articulates an alternative to the modern attitude toward nature.
