AB  - This paper is based on a story that was published in 1736, Rhinsault et Sapphira, Histoire tragique, but takes place at the end of the Middle Ages in the Burgundian principality. From this tale’s plot and narration, this paper examines how fiction and history can combine through politics and passion, within a story that displays an ambiguous form of sovereignty when exerted by an authoritarian prince, upholder of the law.
