AB  - The circumstances of the writing of the Directorium ad passagium faciendum, offered to Philip VI of Valois who had taken crusade vows, are well documented. Before seeking to resolve the question of its author, this article looks at the manuscript tradition and the reception of this treatise. It reached two milieus, which were interested in it according to two preoccupations: on the one hand, the crusade and the reconquest of the holy places, and on the other, union with the Eastern churches.
