AB  - Critics tend to consider the Memoirs of Philippe de Commynes and Marguerite de France separately. On the contrary, this article would like to show the continuity between the two French memorialists, but also some peculiarities, in terms of author’s posture and major rhetorical choices: the refusal of style erected as a guarantee of the veracity of the speech, the emergence of political consciousness and the making of a persona conforming to the image that memorialists wish to leave to posterity.
