AB  - Preserved in five manuscripts and two editions from the end of the 15th century, the Miroir des dames attributed to Jean Castel draws on the doctrine of contemptus mundi and is closely related to the genre of mirrors of death. We propose here to identify the stakes of this christian lesson addressed to the ladies, called to preserve the salvation of their souls by despising everything that has made the charm of their existence.
