AB  - This article uses the example of Medea rejuvenating Aeson to study how the General estoria and Ovide moralisé translate Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Studying the vocabulary of magic allows us to identify both elements shared by the two Romance translations, which in the end contain little lexical invention, and subtle inflections of the Latin hypotext, for reasons of propriety in the Castilian text and due to Christian ideology in the French poem.
