AB  - Manuscript 5–5–16, in Castilian, from the Biblioteca Colombina of Seville, is the only known medieval manuscript in Europe to offer glosses in the vernacular. Its proximity to the Catalan translation of the Heroides by Guillem Nicolau in 1391 invites us to carry out a comparative study of the letters as well as the glosses and accessus, in order to determine the place of the Sevillian manuscript in the medieval Iberian Ovidian tradition. Here is a first look at this work.
