AB  - The paper traces the poetic career of Michel d'Amboise (c. 1505-1547), known as the “esclave fortuné”, and endeavours to uncover his family, military, editorial and poetic networks by analysing the opening poems of his fifteen or so printed works, while highlighting the aspects of his work which, although he occupies a marginal position in relation to Marotic circles, tie it closely to the poetic model of Clément Marot.
