Various elements in the collection incite the reader to establish links between the lyric voices and the historical authors, detecting an experience under the veil of the courtly discourse. If we combine the textual and the graphic clues, taking account of what a given proper name evokes for us, we see a world emerging, in which the figures of author, copyist, and owner compete against one another.
