This article explores the Fulani language of emotions, characterizing the role of the experiencer in the encoding of emotions. To express their emotions, the Fulani speaker can choose to use an imaginative utterance including a body part which generally has the role of the experiencer. The body part undergoes metaphorical processes describing the physical sensations caused by emotions.
