AB  - This article presents an overview over the characteristics of what we call in French “stereotypical speech acts”, i.e. frozen expressions that constitute speech acts, e.g. la belle affaire (big deal), tu vas voir ce que tu vas voir (just you wait). We will define these “stereotypical speech acts” compared to other categories of pragmatic phraseologisms, especially so-called pragmatemes, and examine their value as speech acts, their relations with their context, and their theoretical status.
