AB  - In order to avoid costly explanations in terms of idiomaticity, we will in contrast claim that part of the lexicon is in fact generated by lexical schematas, that is, formal patterns combined with a semantic invariant. After comparing the main options of such a theoretical framework to similar approaches as Zuluaga, Goldberg and last but not least, Mel’čuk, four specific phenomena will be accounted for with lexical schematas.
