AB  - The aim of this article is to propose an overview of French studies on the notion of polarity. In French, polarity has generally been studied in the context of negation, whereas in the Anglo-Saxon tradition, polarity is considered as a subject per se. A significant part will then be devoted to reviewing the main works in this context. Works have been grouped together according to their theoretical approach. The bibliography should enable those interested to go further.
