AB  - In this article, we deal with the issue of phraseology in subject-specific texts in the areas of Economics and Finance. We analyse professional phrasemes from the linguistic and statistical point of view and present the research based on a comparative study that was conducted on two corpora: literary and specialized. At first we examine linguistic features based on criteria of fixed morphosyntactic, lexical and semantic forms. Next, we do quantitative analysis based on the frequency of recurrence and occurrence. Our approach is illustrated by the study of the structure verb + preposition of place + noun of colour and in particular by the analysis of the expressions including phraseological element dans le rouge or dans le vert. This analysis reveals uncovering the combinatory profile of these phraseological elements and leads to the discovery of metaphoric basis of the structure and its elements.
