The motif of recognition undoubtedly constitutes an anthropological constant with important existential and axiological implications. After a reminder of its theoretical foundations in Aristotle’s writing, the article analyzes, using diverse examples, the fictional treatment of this theme, whose originality lies in its seriousness and lack of tragic elements, often aiming to highlight the excellence of the protagonists while suggesting an opacity in people’s relationships to others and themselves.
