AB  - The Announcement was the most performed play in Italy in the 20th century, compared to Partage de Midi and L'Otage, which were also translated. Three translations of the 1912 version are studied here: those by Fr. Casnati, G. Vigini and F. Sinisi, directed by P. Bignamini. The linguistic choices are examined (Casnati and Vigini's aged lexicon, Sinisi's updated lexicon), the adaptation and the cuts, and the performance, created in 2017 under the sign of poetry and scenic imagination.
