AB  - The correspondence between Suarès and Claudel imperfectly captures the two writers’ long, rich and complex relationship. While analyzing the various stages of epistolary exchanges that were at first numerous and enthusiastic, and then gradually reduced to a bare minimum, this study also reveals the lesser known side of their bond, from their student years to the death of Suarès in 1948. In this impossible friendship, literary admiration and religious incomprehension are inextricably intertwined.
