AB  - The Travel diary reveals at first an attitude of avoidance towards painting resulting in a greater artistic interest for statuary. In addition, the only pictorial work explicitly appreciated was characterized by a strong contrast between light and dark. Finally, the description of some emblematic Tuscan monuments reveals a confusion between ophidian green and black. The latter facts conjugated with a thorough analysis of chromatic terminology suggest a deuteranomaly type colour blindness.
