AB  - This article reflects on the conception of biblical exegesis and symbolism in Bloy and Huysmans: two parallel itineraries around the looking-glass world of scripture, which Bloy certainly is responsible for, thanks to the legacy of Abbé Tardif de Moidrey. This is in turn inherited by Huysmans, who will implement it in La Cathédrale. In the first author’s work, there is the prevailing symbolism of history and its actors, and in the second author’s, a figurative and picturesque reading of creation.
