AB  - Wim Delvoye, born 1965 in Wervik, Belgium, is a neo-conceptual artist whose work parodies, displaces, abuses the figure of Christ recycled as series of manufactured objects. The holy image is thus reduced to an industrial artifact or turned into kitsch reproductions tattooed on pig skin. Through processes of hybridity, grafting and cross-contamination, the corruption of Christ’s representation achieves a combination of contradictory elements.
