AB  - Les Faux-Monnayeurs and Contrepoint both took the fugal writing as a model, and the figure of the most quoted composer J. S. Bach as a reference. “What I would make, don’t get me wrong, this is something that would be like The Art of Fugue" said Édouard in Gide’s novel. On the opposite, Philip Quarles in Aldous Huxley’s novel advocates the "medicalization of novel" inspired by contrapuntal writing. In both novels, the fugal writing, such a music performance before being mirror-like, took the form of an agreement however.
