AB  - Valéry thinks that the concept of a time is imprecise and confused. The need for a conceptual purification is prior to any reflection on this question. It should be specified whether by “time” we mean an internal intuition, an attribute of action or a form of understanding. Valéry opts for time as a sensation. Its essence is contrast. This conception is an explicit questioning of Kantian philosophy and Bergsonism.
