AB  - In Les Soleils des Indépendances, post-colonial disenchantment is not exclusively noticeable in political, economic or social reality. It is also expressed through the visual depiction of landscape which constitutes a suitable environment to draw allusions from. For instance, the horizon, this imaginary line that divides the landscape, is depicted as being fraught with negative values. There are also quite numerous parallels which are drawn between the political meaning of the text and cityscape.
