Abstract: During the XXth century, the recognition of literary works rested on an historical perspective: they were read for how they were part of a long-term evolution. This perspective began to lose its relevance as «contemporaneity» became the main horizon of both production and reception. Such a change has brought important challenges to literary criticism: on which basis can it acknowledge and select works over others? And how can it works from the past alive in our memory ?
