Abstract: Antiquity and Middle-earth are two close universes, as they are two other worlds, and two worlds of the past. The study of the Antiquity in Tolkien's Legendarium cannot therefore be limited to the study of the borrowings from classical culture, and includes the presence of Antiquity, as a period, in the fictional history.
