Abstract:La Comédie humaine, a network text, anticipated the practice of hypertext links and provides ideal yet complex material for digital publishing, which must confront several problems: the size of the work, the definition of its table of contents, the relationship between the whole and the part, and the evolution of the text over the course of its genesis. This article provides answers by looking at the digital publishing experience of the eBalzac website, which aims to open up new avenues of reading.
