Abstract: This paper on nanotechnologies focuses on metaphorical terms as the expression of theory-constitutive metaphors. The corpus-based analysis shows that conceptual integration can help understand how new disciplinary fields emerge. The bio-nano conceptual integration opens new avenues of research and makes way for a new approach to nanotechnologies as a broad multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary domain.
