Abstract:Batman: The Animated Series, which began in 1992, was an aesthetic matrix for the other Batman works that would follow, combining the noir trend of the 1930s–1950s with the iconography of comic books. The series also invites us to think about the spatiality of US cities in the early 1990s, incarnated by Batman’s psychological dualism and his iconic rogues’ gallery.
