Abstract: TV shows reassure us by their recurrence. We understand their codes and we like to know them again and again. Some series get a specific end, chosen by their creators, to finish a cycle. Others are just cancelled, due to a lack of audience, like a “break up”. In an unconscious way, the end of a TV show has something to do with the intimate question of our own mortality.
