Abstract: The Israeli series Fauda does not aim to tackle all the complexity of the Arab–Israeli wars. Rather, it details the dangers of infiltration, the moments when the identities of agents navigating between two languages and two worlds become untethered and destructive. At their level, everything is knotted together by human relationships and undone by a cycle of ceaseless revenge. Consumed by their missions, the spies in Fauda appear powerless in the face of the geopolitical tragedy engulfing them.
