Abstract: Writer, essayist, researcher, editor, and graphic novel writer (including the Cités obscures created with François Schuiten), Benoît Peeters possesses a rare experience of the relationship between text and image. In the 1980s, he even tried his hand, with Marie-Françoise Plissart, at the photo-novel. Rich in experience of, and reflections on, the illustrated story, in this interview with Martine Lavaud he describes the process of photo-novelistic creation and the genre’s potential.
