Abstract: The article examines the registers of space in chick lit novels in Hungary to establish a clear difference between the representation of Hungarian spaces and exotic spaces. Analysis of the novel Filles du monde en Transylvanie by Zsolna Ugron shows that the image of the Transylvanian region is here formatted according to the discursive model for the description of exotic spaces.
