Abstract: Following Claude Duchet or Claudia Bouliane, it is possible to carry out a sociocritical analysis of the incipit of Madame Bovary or of novels of adolescence from the interwar period respectively. Similarly, the novels of Sophie Divry or Franz Bartelt, which depict the unemployed, make it possible to provide additional sociocritical analysis of textual details, revealing a form of the novelistic that is sapped of life.
