Abstract: If the novels of F. Cheng invite History through its protagonists’ lives, they also offer a spiritual and metaphysical scope. Romantic mysticism lies in the tension between ordinary life and the elevation of the beings. Throughout the story, the characters live the abolition of the inner self limits to reach The Supreme/Absolute Being (or the Absolute of the being). In this internal journey, the mystical life experience becomes that of a pure plenitude, making the world’s understanding possible.
