Abstract: Enid Starkie’s article, translated here into French, describes the visit of Verlaine and Mallarmé to England, and notably Oxford, at the end of the nineteenth century. It gives us an insight into the international networks in which their works were rooted, and for which the poets themselves acted as ambassadors.
