Abstract: An allusion to the Altars of Salomon, in the poem Faim, in Une saison en enfer, reveals the interest of Rimbaud for the First Book of Kings, in the Hebrew Bible. In this short poem, this allusion to Solomon counterbalances the mention of the stones of old churches. Despite this syncretism, most of details in this poem seem to echo various verses in the Book of King, concerning the building of the Temple and the palace or Solomon.
