Abstract: This study compares Vico and Benjamin, not to compare two philosophies, but two « worlds », different and distant, but united by a common root : the biblical text. This root is at the heart of the author’s analysis, which aims above all to shed light on the different positions of the two philosophers with regard to, first, language and its origin, then, the relationship between God and man, and, finally, the concept of history.
