Abstract: In the first part of L'Adolescence clémentine (1532), Marot denounces the torments that “Mad Love” provokes, as it deprives the individual of his liberty and of the joys of reciprocity. On the other hand, the poet suggests a celebration of a sensual fulfillment that does not alter the sincerity of one’s faith. It proposes recognizing in terrestrial life the time and the place for a double jubilation: one stems from the human emotion of love, and the other brings the spiritual joy of salvation.
